FUEL OIL TREATMENT CHEMICAL – FOT CATALYST

1. Applications

FOT CATALYST functions as a combustion improver, carbon catalyst, ash modifier, and smoke suppressant for heavy fuel oil (HFO)-fired diesel engines and boilers.

2. Directions for Use

The dosing point varies depending on the fuel system arrangement of the engine/boiler. The most effective and economical method is to use a dosing pump, injecting the additive into the suction side of the booster pump (for diesel engines) or into the burner fuel supply line (for boilers).

Alternatively, the additive may be:

• Dosed directly into the daily service tank prior to refilling, or

• Injected into the storage tank.

Dosage rates depend on engine characteristics, operating conditions, and fuel quality.

A CCAI (Calculated Carbon Aromaticity Index) above 840 indicates poor fuel quality, highlighting the need for chemical fuel treatment to mitigate adverse effects without degrading fuel performance.

Typical dosage ranges from 1–2 liters per 2,000 liters of fuel oil.

As a general guideline, the initial recommended dosage is 1 liter of FOT CATALYST per 4,000 liters of heavy fuel oil.
