TANK CLEANING CHEMICAL – UNICLEAN HD

1. Applications

UNICLEAN HD is specially formulated to enhance cleaning efficiency while overcoming the limitations of liquid caustic-based detergents. It can also be used as a deodorizing cleaning agent across a wide range of applications.

UNICLEAN HD is highly effective in removing heavy contamination caused by inert gas systems (IGS).

Properties:

2. Directions for Use

The following tank cleaning procedure is recommended for removing IGS residues from tank coatings using UNICLEAN HD:

1. Prepare the UNICLEAN HD solution at the tank bottom or in a designated tank space.

2. Dilute with water at 5%–8%, depending on contamination severity. A 7%–7.5% solution is generally optimal for effective cleaning.

3. Do not use the entire quantity of UNICLEAN HD in a single solution for all tanks.

4. The solution can be used at ambient temperature; however, a minimum temperature of 70°C will improve cleaning efficiency and reduce cleaning time.

5. Recirculate the cleaning solution during tank washing for at least 2 hours per cycle. Typically, 4 hours per tank is sufficient.

6. After chemical cleaning, rinse thoroughly with fresh water at maximum available pressure.

7. Inspect tank surfaces. If IGS stains remain, apply undiluted UNICLEAN HD directly to affected areas, allow 30 minutes reaction time, then rinse thoroughly.

NOTE: UNICLEAN HD is safe for use on most surfaces, except inorganic zinc-coated tanks.

General Recommendation:

For effective removal of inert gas residues without contaminating subsequent cargoes:

• Use 5% solution for light contamination

• Use 7%–7.5% solution for heavy contamination
  Application methods and dilution ratios may vary depending on cargo type. UNICLEAN HD can also be applied by spraying, followed by rinsing.

Typical Dosage Guidelines (depending on severity):

• Rust removal: 2%–5%

• Mineral oil removal: 4%–8%

• General interior cleaning (walls, floors, etc.): 0.5%–1%

• Soaking tanks: 10%–100%

• Fish oil residues: 3%–5%

• Hydrocarbons: 3%–5%

3. Safety Information

According to the latest EEC directives, this product is classified as:

• R20/21/22: Harmful by inhalation, in contact with skin, and if swallowed

• S2: Keep out of reach of children
